We started by conditioning a classic Russian Imperial Stout on heaping mounds of Toasted Coconut and Cacao Nibs, before transferring it on top of Peanuts, Pretzels, and decadent White Chocolate. Rich malt notes of roasted coffee and toffee form a persistent undercurrent with bright notes of Peanut and White Chocolate blending with slightly more nuanced flavors of Coconut, Cacao, and Pretzel.

Can pour at brewery, Ghost 1073 at 12%. Silky black pour, tine ring of brown head, flat. This was a real treat, like a melted Take 5 candy bar. Throw in a little Mounds bar too. Sticky and sweet, all of the adjuncts working together beautifully.

16 oz can, poured into a Spiegelau stout glass at ~50 degrees F.

L: Pours your typical stout impenetrable black, and forms about a finger and a half of tan foam with okay retention.

S: Peanut butter leaps out of the glass, atop something not terribly unlike a chocolate covered pretzel. Those aromas are pretty all-encompassing.

T: Definitely confirmation of the nose. This opens as a liquefied chocolate-covered peanut butter cup, which doesn't fade so much as is joined by other flavors as it moves along. Midway along the palate, salted pretzel emerges in the background, along with the ghost of a whispered suggestion of some plums and loam. The salted pretzel lingers in the aftertaste, as if chocolate-covered. There's not even a hint that this is a 14% beer.

F: Smooth and silky, though more towards the fuller end of medium than full.

O: This is definitely a dessert stout, and as such, I dig it. If you're not a flavored tout sort of person, you'll want to avoid this one.

Wasn’t sure what to think of this when I purchased - it sounded interesting but also gimmicky. OMFG, how’d they pull this off? The strong scent of peanut butter and maple syrup; both were really present throughout each sip, too. I missed the coconut but could pick out the cacao nibs along with some toffee notes. Really smooth carbonation and not as full bodied or boozy as I’d expected. Amazing.

Two Hundred is an extremely extreme beer. Toasted coconut + cacao nibs + peanut butter + pretzels + maple syrup as per the can. Pours a pitch black with very little head. Intense milk chocolate on the nose from the start. Super soft mouthfeel with an amazingly soft, thick and rich flavor. As it warms, the maple syrup booziness kicks in, making it a chocolate milk for adults. Adroit has killed it again. May be the best RIS I’ve ever had.
