Received in a trade from @OzzyLizard

No canning date

Poured at about 45 degrees F into a teku glass

Thick oily pour with a foamy espresso colored head that faded quick. Faintest hairline of retention. 4

Aroma on the can was clean fresh brewed coffee and a touch of roasted malt, but only slightly so. Ethanol on the glass became more noticeable especially the longer it sat out. 4

Clean dark/medium dark coffee again, roasty, touch of bitterness, but no clear hop presence. 4

Thick and full bodied, no ethanol burn, however and only mildly warming. 3.75

Overall one of the best RIS I've had to date, and I'd take this over a BCBS anyday. 4

Ossuary (Ghost Ossuary) – from Adroit Theory. Four pack of 16 fl oz cans purchased from Adroit Theory, Purcellville, VA, on pre-order $ 32.96 (including shipping), $ 0.515 /fl oz. Reviewed 18/09/24 (Review 3359). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored at 34 degrees F at home. Served at 53.2 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 56.4 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.25
First pour –Deep Brown (SRM 30), Light barely penetrates.
Body – Black (SRM 40), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum1.4 cm, aggressive center pour), initially tan but wheat as it oxygenates, high density, short retention, leaving a 0.2 – 0.4 cm crown fed by spotty carbonation, and a thin carbonation film.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4.25 – Roasted malt, coffee, and a bit of wood. No hops, no alcohol (12 % ABV, according to the label).
Flavor – 4.25 – Slightly sweet with dark fruit, dark chocolate, coffee. The woodiness in the aroma is missing from the flavor. No alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Distinct gastric smoldering with a long burn time.
Palate – 4 – Medium approaching full; approaching creamy; lively but soft carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines, as condensed by BA.
Final Impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Ho-hum. Another RIS from Adroit Theory. Not being a super taster, this seems like the same one I had yesterday, with the addition of the ethanol burn.

One of the best pours I have seen. Rich dark brown color. Absolutely fantastic head. It rose up gracefully, and stayed around, very slowly dissipating but leaving heavy traces on the glass.

No noticable smell.

Smooth, easy drinking. Great texture, not too thick, not too thin.

Delicious beer.

L: Pours dark hickory, forming a thin tawny head that fades slowly, revealing a thin effervescent layer of retention on the surface and a thick foamy ring around the edge of the snifter. Held to the light, this beer has a thick, opaque fudge/chocolate hue.

S: Roasted malts, char, coffee roast, and some light chocolate. Hint of vanilla and caramel.

T: Follows the nose - big roasted malt flavor up front, followed by coffee and some light char. Caramel and vanilla in the middle, followed by some brown sugar. Finishes bitter, maybe some cacao nibs?

F: Smooth, thick, silky mouthfeel. Medium- to full-bodied.

O: Another good entry from Adroit. Classic RIS. No weak spots.

Thx to Knapp85 for sharing this can!

A - Dark brown pour with light tan lacing.

S - Light char and chocolate.

T - Follows the nose with light chocolate char, coffee, and booze.

M - Big viscous silky body with light warming on the way down, bone dry on the top of the tongue and wet on the sides of the mouth.

O - Decent.

Can dated 3/9/22 into pint glass. Pours a very dark brown with a modest tan head. Initial impression is roasted malts, chocolate, hints of coffee and vanilla. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Mouthfeel is smooth and thick - almost viscous. Finish fades to dark chocolate. An excellent RIS - reminds me how much I like the style!

L: like a stout, jet black with lace like attributes on the inside of a Teku.
S: Nose is roasty malts, caramel & coffee (latte).
T: Taste is rich with the same flavours and I think I'm getting a hint of vanilla. Subtly bitter. Some sweetness, but balanced well.
F: Mouthfeel is full but not sticky or cloying. Finishes with a bit of warmth.
Really enjoyed this, not boozy for an 12% stout, I'd say this is tasty AF

16oz can from Tavour. Black pour, light beige head, recedes to tiny ring of bubbles. Aroma is half roasty malts and half caramel/toffee. Taste is also an even split between bittering roast and brown sugar sweetness. Finish is mostly bitter, but sweet elements also linger in the background.

Not great, but I’ve had worse. It has a lot of dark malt, with a presence of coffee and hazelnut. Best thing is the fact that the body is medium and the booze is well disguised.
