Our Evangelion series continues with Sachiel, emphasizing complexity in hop profile. Prominent forward notes of Overripe Mango, Tropical Lime, and Grapefruit transition to a floral, dank finish with slight pine interlaced.

On-tap 11/27/2021 at Pour Farm Tavern in New Bedford, MA, served in a snifter glass.
A: The beer is a very hazy deep yellowish gold color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains strong piney and dank hops, tropical fruits and light caramelized malts.
T: The taste starts out with a strong piney and dank hops bitterness that is quickly followed by some juicy tropical fruit sweetness. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings some balance. There is also a bit of booziness that comes into the finish. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down dangerously easy, not too filling, strong kick, good representation of style. This is a very solid big 2IPA to drink for a long time.

Can dated 9/16/21 into pint glass. Pours a murky burnt gold-orange with a brief off-white head. Good lacing. Initial impression is tart grapefruit, lime, and mango, with a slight pine bitterness. Alcohol is evident but not overwhelming. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. Finish is fairly clean, with residual pine bitterness. Overall, an excellent DIPA!
