A jet-black monster of a beer with heavy notes of dark roast coffee and dried cacao nibs, that slowly gives way to dark Belgian sugars and sticky malt sweetness.

Can from Bird Girl (3/26). No can date. Possible this has been on shelf; possible a cellar release from AT. Regardless this is a delicious superbly smooth sipper. In either case it comes across as a brew that has aged, and aged very well. Poured into a Bird Girl snifter at 52 degrees F. Produced a jet black body with a dense mocha head. Beautiful. Nose was subdued on pour, but really grew as beer aired out.Largely malty. Taste mirrored description perfectly. Rich with deep dark malts, loads of cacao, laced with sugar sweetness but not dessert…just complementary. Dark fruits. Not overly roasty; gentle roast. Kinda RIS-lite on roastiness. Body is wonderfully smooth and silky. Not too thick; not too thin…just right. Overall, an excellent rich indulgent sipper. Wished I’d grabbed a few more cans.
