Absolute Zero (Ghost 1466)

Still haven't figured out the "Ghost" label. Looking at the reviews for Absolute Zero Ghost 998, this beer seems remarkably similar in terms of reviewed attributes, .abv and can design. In any case, it is a very good Imperial IPA! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer featured a beautiful light copper color, a small foamy white head that hangs in there despite the 12%. abv and lots of filmy lacing. Aroma and taste are robust as you would expect in a big beer. The backbone is a smooth caramel maltiness and on top of that is plenty of piney and floral hops with some aspects of the Strata hops used - such as tropical fruit, some citrus (Citra hops contribute as well) and a touch of dankness. Pretty complex for a strong, hoppy beer. Mouthfeel is rich and powerful with a nice balance between bitternes and booziness offset by caramel malt. There are some subdued harsh alcohol tones but it goes down for the most part like a well mannered aged Barleywine. I really enjoyed this beer.
