This juicy New England IPA series is characterized by intensely tropical fruit notes and very modest finishing bitterness, and the first release is no exception. Notes of stone fruit, melon, and passion fruit pervade each sip from start to finish, contained within a semi-sweet, pillowy body.

Can into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with a brief off-white head. Not much lacing. Initial impression is sweet stone fruits, lemon, a hint of orange, and maybe some melon. Mouthfeel is kind of soapy. Finish fades to sweet citrus. Overall, not one of my Adroit Theory faves and not one I'd revisit.

An IPA with lactose!!!!! Sort of defeats the IPA idea. The can called it a Hazy Imperial IPA but, without the 8% .abv, this would have been a Milkshake IPA (an abomination in my view). Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer featured the NEIPA signature straw yellow color and foamy white head. Excellent head retention and thick bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste hinted at a fruity aspect, but it was very much curtailed by the creamy milky lactose addition. The same with bitterness - also blunted by the lactose. The same goes for the mouthfeel. Juiciness associated with NEIPAs and bitterness found in most IPA's were sacrificed to the lactose. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with little to no bitterness and no alcohol presence. Far from a drainpour, but not something I would want in an IPA either. Lactose has its place in Fruited Kettle Sours and Milk Stouts, but I don't like it in an IPA!!!
