Adroit Theory Demons Surround Me (Ghost: Demons) RIS, 16.66% ABV. Pours thick and black with no head. Aroma is roast malt and vague sweetness. Taste is roast malt and slight coffee, moderately sweet, faintly bitter, pleasant bourbon burn. Excellent thick and smooth mouthfeel, but little carbonation. Overall outstanding. The alcohol isn't as evident as you'd expect at 16.66% ABV, so this one could sneak up and whack you in the head if you guzzle it, not that I would. Could drink these all day, but it would be a short day.

Demons Surround Me (Ghost: Demons) from Adroit Theory. 16 fl oz can. Purchased on-line from Adroit Theory. Reviewed 02/12/24 (Review 3408). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored at 39 degrees at home. Served at 55.0 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 59.2 degrees F.
Appearance – 4
First pour - Black (SRM 40), opaque
Body – Black (SRM 40), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head: None. After the pour is complete, a 0.15 cm ring of near-microscopic bubbles forms, tan, with no cap. There was no head space in the can.
Lacing – Surprisingly, a narrow, arching, band of near-microscopic bubbles remains, which eventually devolves into VERY torn curtains.
Aroma – 4.5 – Woody with roasted malt, ghosts of coffee. No hops. No ethanol (16.66 % ABV as marked on label). By the ending temperature, the woodiness is gone, and the coffee has become noticeable.
Flavor – 4.25 – Lightly sweet chocolate malt, some mocha latte. Lacks the woodiness of the nose. Surprisingly, moderate gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium to full: creamy; soft, barely noticeable, carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) A very tasty rendition of a Russian Imperial Stout.
