The pour is sark, stout black and then some. The short head is chocolate brown, and that’s not an exaggeration. No lacing though, but for a 14% stout, no surprise.
The taste is dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and just a little bitter. Less than expected.
The feel is smooth and viscous. Has to have some body to carry all the flavors.
OA, I really, really enjoyed it, just not quite the ideal RIS. Too smooth.

Future You Hates You (Ghost Hate) from Adroit Theory. Received from their website 19/03/25. 16 fl oz can, $ 6.50 (Including tax)/ $ 0.406/fl oz. Reviewed 22/04/25 (Review 3511). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored in at 39 degrees F at home: served at 56.6 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 61.3 degrees F.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Ruby Brown (SRM 24), nearly opaque.
Body – Deep Brown (SRM 30), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, ruby at the edges.
Head – Average (Maximum one cm, aggressive center pour), high density, Windsor tan, average retention. It recedes to a 0.2 cm crown and thin partial cap, fed by spotty carbonation.
Lacing – None
Aroma – 4 – Mild roasted malt with hints of chocolate and coffee. No yeast, no hops, no alcohol.
Flavor – 4.25 – Begins slightly bittersweet. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a mild smokiness. No yeast, no hops. No alcohol (14 % ABV, according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Moderate long-lived gastric burning occurs.
Palate – 4 – Full: creamy: soft carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Typical unsigned asymmetric metal label art. This is a good but not outstanding take on the Russian Imperial Stout. Some roasted malt, coffee dominating barely detectable chocolate, beginning and ending slightly sweet.
