Delicate. Golden body. A touch cheesy, light Tillamook funk. Touch of pepper, straw and a light amount of leather to keep things a bit dry. Lighter medium bodied. Tasty!

2019 vintage, a blend of one beer from each of these two fantastic breweries, de garde and block 15. i had been saving this one for a special occasion, and my birthday seemed like time. it did not disappoint! a little tricky to pour, just a splash in the glass and everything fizzes up crazy, its obvious the brett in the bottle has really livened this up in the cellar, a huge head on top of a very pale straw colored brew with good clarity until closer to the bottom. the head is airy, tiny bubbles, and it has excellent retention, i drink each sip through a tall layer of it. it smells and tastes about the same, subtle at first, but quite nuances as well, tart but not really acidic at all, funky as can be, not more of a wild vibe than a cultured brett one, great farmy and rustic elements, incredibly well refined and a gorgeous blend overall, i love this kind of beer. there is some nice oak on it, strong white wine, chardonnay character to it, fruity like green grapes and green gooseberries, tangy and lightly citric, a hay and straw harvesty vibe, no sweetness from the malt whatsoever, but balanced in the sense that its not all yeast character. i get some lemon, some fresh woodiness, a musty funk, and light pear and honeydew melon as well. great complexity as this warms, absolutely effervescent carbonation which i love in the style, and very dry to finish, just supreme drinkability, i wish i had more of this to drink, and am super keen to find the other seasons in this cool collaboration series. wonderful beer worthy of any occasion!
