The recipe for this beer is based upon mid nineteenth century brown porters. We spontaneously fermented this beer with our native yeast and bacteria in second use bourbon and red wine barrels. After extended aging, and collaborative sampling with Coava, this was racked onto Coava Coffee's single origin 'Cornelio Nunez' coffee beans before packaging.
Brite coffee aromas and flavors lead the way, with a subtle acidity and mellow barrel nuance complementing the chocolate and coffee notes from the grain, and the earthy character from the hefty dose of Fuggle hops.

The aroma hits of coffee and light roasted malt of a porter.
The beer then turns a 180 on the palate of tart cherries and almost an oud bruin quality.
A really surprising, fun, and most importantly, delicious brew.

750 ml bottle into a tulip.
pours a dark murky brown with a slight head. smell of straight up coffee and honestly nothing else. taste is so different from the nose. starts out huge on lemon then you get the coffee then it turns almost lip puckering tart. such a change in flavor throughout. wow. finish is sour and it lingers on the palate. this will get a ton of mixed responses. medium bodied. mild carbonation.
overall just a super interesting beer . try it for the uniqueness.
