Poured into a hybrid glass from a 16oz can
A - a really nice semi translucent golden copper, one finger off white head and some slight lacing
S - sweet, booze, bitter (grains/malts), cracker yeast, lots of pine, nice citrus, peach. Mango, lots of green brown earth and a strange apple note
T - lots of sugar, with a nice booze note, super bitter (lots of roasted/toasted malts/grains), lots of pine, floral, citrus rind, cracker yeast and more bitter sweetness
M - medium plus body, decent balance, nice complexity, medium plus acidity and medium carbonation
D - this beer is very nice, but a big change from most of the IPA’s out these days. More lean heavy on sugar or fruit and this one leans heavy on bitter/sweet/pine — very old school. Clean crisp and a punch in the face all in one. Pairs well with pork and pasta, with a couple of gummy worms for desert.
Final thoughts - $3 a can, a very nice 8% ABV and would love to try a nitro version of this

Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly clear copper golden pour. Two fingers of foamy white head leave a solid ring of lacing.
S: Sweet citrus and bread. Grapefruit... evergreen and spice.
T/F: Bready with caramel malts and a bit of sweetness. Followed up with a grapefruit forward hop profile. Tangerine and tea leaves. A little peppery, big bitterness but somewhat overbalanced with candied citrus. Sticky and resinous. The finish is nicely bitter.
O: A big citrus forward DIPA. May be a bit overbalanced with the malts but still great flavor and easy to drink.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear yellow gold with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet perfumey grainy caramel malt with resiny piney hops and a little fruit.
The flavor is sweet sugary grainy caramel malt with kind of harsh and slightly ashy resiny hops. The mouthfeel is a bit light bodied and watery.
Overall, I catch quite a few flaws but it's still drinkable.

This DIPA went through several experimental iterations. Fortunately, Weins seems to have finally settled on its preferred brewing method for this DIPA. I picked up a bomber at Albertson's on 02/10/2017. Bottled on 05/09/2016. Despite this old bottled date, this DIPA still tastes very good. I shudder to think how killer this DIPA would taste fresh. Perhaps Weins is working to improve its distribution. Lastly, while the new label for this DIPA is slick and distinctive, it's not as colorful if I had my druthers.
Big Cog pours a clear amber with moderate carbonation. 1 finger of white foam. Nice lacing. The smell is grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, tropical fruits, pine, and some grass. The taste starts with a strong note of citrus and flowery hops, followed by grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, et al. This taste is perfectly complimented by the mild malt backbone, which never infringes on the hop forwardness of this DIPA.
This is actually a surprisingly good DIPA which I'll occasionally add to my weekly rotation of daily DIPAs. My biggest caveat is whether Weins Brewing allows for fresher availability of this beer.

Really surprised with this. This batch was bottled 7/15 so it's been sitting for awhile but it is really good. I wish I'd had a chance to try it fresh. 8.5% on the bottle.
Appearance: golden orange, small white head with minimal retention, fairly clear.
Smell: mango, some fresh cut grass, a little green onion.
Taste: mango, honeydew, a little garlic, herb, and pine.
Feel: dry and minerally, really refreshing for a DIPA.
Digging this, hopefully the next batch is as good or better.

Had it on draft at the brewery. I was really surprised at how great of an IPA these guys can put together. This one was super solid, lots of grapefruit and piny flavors. Not to sweet for a double.

Really hoppy initial taste then it just falls flat. But it's alright. This is a experimental rotational dipa which means that the taste will be different every batch. It says it on the bottle.
