Brewed with locally sourced, wet hops from Empire, Michigan. Fresh hop aromatics with a toasted biscuit malt character leading to a mild bodied beer and a slight lemon thyme finish.

Served from tap in a snifter at Firkin.
You know it's time to harvest your saisons when they're up to an elephant's eye. Anyway, this stuff pours a hazy midnight brass topped by a finger of cream foam. The nose comprises berries (leaning toward a marmalade kind o' scent), clove, and musty hay. The taste holds notes of toasted sweet grains, mild grass, light clove, light brown sugar, and a bit of orange peel. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a very nice saison, one that lured me in with the surprisingly fruity smell and kept me invested with a rustic, slightly hoppy flavor profile. Not bad at all, Penrose.

For using fresh hops and being dry hopped the hop flavor and aroma left something to be desired completely drowned out by the yeast derived flavors and aromas. Would try a more robust hop cascade just couldnt compete with the yeast strain they used.
