Served on-tap at Burial Beer Co. in Asheville, NC
A: Pours a lightly hazy golden honey in color with light amount of gentle visible carbonation along the surface of the beer and some orange highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall off-white foamy head that reduces to a small thin patch near the center of the glass and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit hops with lighter aromas of floral and pine hops with some hints of lightly sweet grainy malts.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavors of slightly sweet grainy malts. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit hops and then light to moderate flavors of floral and pine hops. Light amounts of bitterness in the finish which fades pretty quickly.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: This is a very easy to drink and very sessionable IPA - I think this should be the staple of all of the new breweries I encounter opening up (really shows off the skills of the brewer in that they can makes something flavorful and aromatic without having to jack up the ABV). I had a couple of these on my visit and will likely be back for more on my next visit to Asheville.
