Between these jagged edges lays the storied steel wielded by mortals to please the gods of war and death. Forged from German and British malts, fermented upon juniper berries and traditionally lagered, our Baltic Porter is made with respect for those that came before it. The result is a mildly spiced but highly aromatic black lager with an ever-present aroma of chocolate, licorice, and roasted nuts. Fear not the presence of the blade, for today's prize knows no wrath.

16 oz. can. Pours black with moderate transparency. Smells of brown malts, sweetness, and some dark breads. Tastes pretty sweet. Starts with dark breads and then a strong malty sweetness. Back end has a light earthy bitterness, but not a lot. Slightest bit of dark fruits and banana in the finish. Medium heavy. Fairly sweet and, perhaps I'm being nitpicky, the malt flavor just kinda tastes like malt. Never turns to toffee or roast or anything but just malt and bread. Fruitiness builds as it warms. Maybe I need an education in Baltic Porters malt profiles, though.

Pours black with medium head. Scent is chocolate and some nuts. Taste is sweet from the chocolate and malts. Medium mouthfeel and an aftertaste that ends with a slight bitterness

Thin head production.

Roasty nose, brown sugar and caramel.

Fairly straightforward Baltic porter, a touch sweet, not quite cloying.
