Brewed with a robust blend of European dark malts and traditional Belgian candi sugar this beer was then aged in whole crushed cocoa beans from French Broad Chocolates. This particular bean is from Nicaragua and has notes of almond butter, toast and bitter dark chocolate. The fruit forward qualities of our house Belgian yeast strain are the perfect compliment to this sinful stout.

On tap at the brewery taproom. Listed as 7% ABV and 31 IBU.

Pours essentially black with a decent head.

Aroma: nutty and roasty with hints of yeast and spices.

Flavor: mild bitterness; rich. Dominated by a generous load of dark roasted grains that carry just a trace of smoke. Minimal funkiness. Hints of coffee with dark bittersweet chocolate.

Smooth, near full body with low but perfectly adequate carbonation.

Overall: a tasty and inviting Belgian style stout.

Had on tap. Pitch brown opaque body with a thin brown ring and lazy lacing. Chocolate melds with toasty malts, nuts, and subtle earth and spices. Taste has more sweetness that mask some of the nuances more, but overall well balanced and malt driven. Feel gets more sweetness texture than the taste gets sweetness, thins out a little at the finish, but very smooth and malty
