Our oracle into ingenuity. A beacon of our muses, we worship at the altar of this homogenization of tradition and modernity. This IPA is made from barley, wheat and oats and fermented warm with a strain of brettanomyces that imparts bright tropical pineapple esters. We dry hop this beer with Citra and Galaxy and then naturally carbonate it in the bottle with fresh pineapple juice. The result is an incredibly drinkable expose of tropical fruit, tangerine and bright earthy grasses.

A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Moderate aromas of brett funk are present in the nose along with hints of pineapples.
T: Like the taste, the taste is both sour and funky from the brettanomyces but has underlying notes of pineapple with hints of limes and lychee. A slight bit of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really enjoyed the contrast of the funkiness and the pineapple in the taste of this beer - the brett canceled out any sweetness and acidity that you would normally expect from pineapple juice and just left the pineapple flavors to remain. The oats also helped to lighten up the body and contribute some smoothness to the mouthfeel.

Another above average brew from Burial, but this one is a ways short of outstanding. The brett I would presume seemed to overpower everything at the start. About halfway through the pour, the fruit and hop aspects became more noticeable. Maybe I'm not a brett fan, but this brew is probably my least favorite Burial offering so far

Poured from bottle into snifter.
My bottle is described as an ipa brewed with brett and pineapple juice coming in at 6.5 abv, so must be a recipe change if the original was an APA. Funky brett dominates at first, until the pallet becomes a bit more accustomed. Then the hops and pineapple are able to shine through a bit more. A decent brew, but maybe doesn't live up to some of Burial's other beers.
