500 ml bottle, poured into tulip. I let it warm up to serving temp from the fridge.
Pours a pitch black with a soft, mocha head. Zero lacing to speak of. Nose of
char, smoke, whisps of vanilla wafers.
Tastes like light smoke, honeycomb, molasses, chocolate, vanilla, Nutty sesame finish. Flavors are well blended and compliment each other.
Velvety smooth mouthfeel, finely bubbled.

Pours an effervescent ebony with 2 fingers of mocha colored head. Stays effervescent, alright head retention and lacing
S: Roasty, dark fruit, prunes cherries, vanilla and booze
T: Follows the nose, much dryness, vanilla and a little caramel up front. Plenty of dryness as this warms, smokeyness, a little prune and charred grain, just a little vanilla and caramel with slight soy bitterness, plus just a little coffee. Finishes dry with vanilla, faint smokeyness, caramel and roastyness, plus a little booze buurn
MF: Medium body, fairly subtle carbonation, sticky and warming once warm
I really enjoyed this one of the best non-BA Imp Stouts I've had in a while

A: Pours an opaque thick viscous jet black in color with light amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising slowly along the edges of the glass and very faint dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark mocha head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of roasted + dark malts with a moderate amount of honey + dark fruit (cherry + fig) sweetness. Moderate aromas of black sesame + light aromas of vanilla.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasted + dark malts with a moderate amount of honey + dark fruit (cherry + fig) sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of black sesame and light flavors of vanilla. Hints of earthy hops. There is a light amount of roasty bitterness which fades away pretty quickly leaving light lingering honey sweetness.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slick.
O: Drinks pretty easily considering the strength and much more balanced than I was expecting since stouts with honey often come across too sweetly for my palate. Enjoyable with a nice combonation of flavors and aromas from the balck sesame + vanilla + honey.
