A: Pours a very lightly hazy pale yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate lemon yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of spicy, earthy, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops along with light to moderate aromas of citrus/tangerine + pine hops over the top of light aromas of slightly sweet grainy malts.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of slightly sweet grainy malts. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of spicy, earthy, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops along with light to moderate flavors of citrus/tangerine + pine hops which contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp.
O: As always, a very well constructed session IPA that really highlights the specific hop varietal used. Very enjoyable - super easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a better than expected mouthfeel for a session IPA. Simcoe is not my favorite hop varietal but it is still very enjoyable and I usually go for beers that include it (not always as a single hop though).
