Notes: Collaboration with Dry & Bitter Brewing Company

The portal to the soul is illuminated by the vocalized murmurs of inner truth. A reality shared with our deep-thinking friends at Dry & Bitter Brewing from Copenhagen. Concocted from North Carolina honey and double dry-hopped with Citra and Simcoe Lupulin Powder.

Citrus pith and resin. I dig lightly sweetened Simcoe.

Appearance - Pours dense murky grapefruit juice color with nice white head. Spotty lacing around the glass.

Aroma - Lots of grapefruit, orange, pine, nice honey sweetness.

Taste - Getting lots of grapefruit up front, light orange, pine/resin. there is a slight bitterness after the initial sweetness that goes s quickly as it comes. A slight juiciness comes back in after the bitterness.

Feel - Medium bodied creamy soft feel slightly dry finish.

Overall - A really well done IPA tropical flavors come in nicely but are very well balanced with the bitterness.

A: Pours an extremely murky medium straw yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint burnt orange + pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit pith, earthy, and pine/resin hops over the top of light aromas of biscuit malts with a light amount of honey sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit malts with a just slightly heavier than light amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit pith, earthy, and pine/resin hops which imparts a hint of bitterness which fades away very quickly leaving a light to moderate amount of juicy/fruit hops lingering.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially crisp with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Very enjoyable and quite easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and crispness + enough body. Really nice hop flavors and aromas without too much sweetness from the honey. Definitely could have a couple of these.
