Collaboration with Ancillary* Fermentation

Such devastating imagination caught adrift a swift and menacing current. For elegance, we are after. Yet the flames of a inevitable doom, we have found. Made with the minds of Ancillary Fermentation. Mashed with Rolled Oats and Wheatberries and aged on Dragonfruit, Strawberry and Wild Blueberry. Double Dry-Hopped with Medusa, Mosaic, Azacca, and El Dorado.

A: Pours a murky medium to dark pinkish burnt orange in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark golden yellow + bright yellow + orange + ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a couple of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than a light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/orange, citrus/grapefruit, tropical/strawberry, tropical/dragonfruit, and tropical/melon hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + oat + wheat malts with a light to moderate amount of grainy sweetness.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of biscuit + oat + wheat malts with a light to moderate amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by just shy of strong flavors of juicy citrus/orange, citrus/grapefruit, tropical/strawberry, tropical/dragonfruit, and tropical/melon hops which impart minimal amounts of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving lingering citrus + berry + tropical fruit hop flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of soft/fluffy almost creaminess mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasant mouthfeel. Enjoyable and interesting but not sure I could have more than one of these in a session as the flavor/aroma profile is unique and intense. Very well done.

Pours a muddy dull orange hue with a dense foamy head that slips down to a soapy ring. Creamy orange, melon, berries. Smooth fruity flavor with a subtle hop bite. Strawberries, apricot, creamy subtle tropical fruit. Not too sweet, but not exactly anything quite like an IPA either. Smooth medium body, finishing dry. Not bad, but not something I'd be compelled to drink more than one of in a sitting.

Poured out of a 16oz can on 1-26-19. Canned yesterday.

Appearance: Beer pours a very very hazy dark orange with a quickly subsiding head. Significantly darker in appearance than almost any IPA I have had. Almost the color and haze of a unfiltered apple cider.

Smell: Very fruity and juicy smelling. Some notes of citrus and lots of berry.

Taste: Juice juice juice. Berries (strawberry in particular) up front followed by lots and lots of juicy citrus. Some lingering hop bitterness but less than I was expecting.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy. A little thicker maybe than I would like, but a very good mouthfeel overall.
