Notes: Light the fires. Its the Summer's apex. This, yes, is our largest Imperial Stout yet, boiled 6 hours and made without the aid of any milk sugars so that it remains surprisingly vegan. The voracious bounty of rich milk-like chocolate and roasted marshmallow comes from a combination of carefully added Nicaraguan cocoa nibs from French Broad Chocolate, rare Tahitian vanilla bean and Maplewood smoked sea salt. We added a graham cracker crust to this beer, utilizing local dark honey and Vietnamese cinnamon. Quite the fireside sipper, rife with all imprints of our glorious childhood.

This beer didn’t pour terribly dark, but sits pitch black in the glass with a dense, tan head. The combination of cinnamon, vanilla beans and cacao nibs blends to create big aromas of hazelnut coffee. I do wish it was a bit stronger, though. You have to search for it. Flavors of coffee crumb cake, bakers chocolate and waffle cone. Overall, outstanding flavor, beautiful beer.

Pours black no light showing thru even in the sun. Small brown bar pour head leaves some spotty lace even at this %.

Aroma is roasted malts lots of vanilla and chocolate light smokiness, maple syrup char might come back from the smokey notes. Nose is nice big and complex longer you sniffer it the more you pull out.

Taste is like the nose big roasted malt body, loads of chocolate, vanilla coffee bean some light maple suryp notes and spice mainly cinnamon like. Seems like the spice more so then any hops keep this from being cloying. Sea salt doesn't really pop at all but the maple flavor sure does. This definitely qualifies as a sipper very big complex and just plainly a great big ass stout.

Mouhfeel is big full bodied and smooth carbonation. Perfect for this big brew.

Overall a great big stout, they really nailed this one. Wish I could take some too share.

Their description- A Portal Towards Nonexistence. 14%. An Imperial Stout with French Broad Cocoa Nibs, Vietnamese Cinnamon, Honey, Tahitian Vanilla and Maple Smoked Sea Salt. Light the fires. Its the Summer's apex. This, yes, is our largest Imperial Stout yet, boiled 6 hours and made without the aid of any milk sugars so that it remains surprisingly vegan. All the fireside snacks. No distro. Very limited.

Poured into a snifter glass.

Look- A dark black with a thin brownish head. It sticks to the glass and lingers for the entire glass.

Smell- Milk chocolate, yummy vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon. The alcohol comes through in the smell like a barrel aged stout, but I do not believe it is BA.

Taste- Really follows the nose. The chocolate and vanilla mix with the alcohol for a nice kick. Surprisingly well balanced and drinkable.

Feel- It coats your tongue and sticks with you. Little carbonation and easy to sip.

Overall- Unlike anything I have had from Burial. Their IPAs and Skillet are fantastic but this was another level. So drinkable for such a high ABV. They would only sell me 2 bottles and I would have gladly bought 5 more.
