Dark mahogany brown to black with a tan head that fizzles out to nothing quick.
While this has a toasty, buttery and savory nut presence not often lent by macadamia in beer, the body is silky smooth, thick and sweet, primarily delivering vanilla swirled candy bar nougat and chocolate chip muffin. A slightly boozy chocolate liqueur comes out on the sticky finish, bringing out a roasted coffee and caramel exhale. As it warms, it really does give off an aroma of coconut macaroon, yet the actual coconut itself gives off minimal character, much in the same way a macaroon works. The aroma also develops a mild cinnamon character with time.
This is pastry tier, no mistaking that.
