For here we came to roam, yet all light had perished. So we were led by only the darkness. A Caribbean rum barrel-aged sour ale that began its life as a Belgian Quad, before aging in our Brunello foudre with our bacterial culture. The beer then spent over a year in rum barrels before bottle conditioning more than 9 months. The beer is boldly vanilla, with pie spice, warm cocoa, tamarind and molasses all over the nose. The warming finish reminds you of the fast close of days, and brooding brilliance of our smoky night skies. A perfect accompaniment to our October.

Released October 2019; drank 9/4/20 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque purple appearance.
An even pour yielded a small, bubbly khaki head; decent lace.
Tart plum, oak, mild tobacco & faint rum notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Tart plum, oak, mild tobacco & mild rum heat flavors.
This was interesting & unique; probably best split up about 3 ways, but I'm glad I tried it.
