Imperial stout with chocolate and coffee
A space in between the lost and the found. A dwelling of ghosts. A canvas to find truth. A double mashed, long boiled imperial stout that one-ups our batch of Mayhem one year ago today. We aged this anytime stout with our biggest dose of the rarest of beans from Onyx Coffee Roasters and a double-dip in the choicest of select nibs from French Broad Chocolate. Loads of creamy mocha, espresso ice cream, and gooey snickers.

Picked up a 500 ml bottle from Burial South Slope 1-6-23 for $19.00. 2023 release reviewed 12-28-23.
Beer poured jet black with a pretty good tan head.
Nose is very nice, getting notes of mildly roasted malts, chocolate, and some coffee.
Taste is a huge malt base in which the coffee and milk chocolate blend nicely together. Hopping could be more but this is nicely balanced.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied with each sip being silky smooth.
Overall a very nice imperial breakfast stout!

Released 7/16/20; drank 7/25/20 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
An even pour yielded a nice, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; almost no lace.
Milk chocolate, medium roast coffee bean & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Rich milk chocolate & mild medium roast flavors up front; faint fresh earth notes on the finish. A hint of booze heat emerged as this warmed.
Dangerously drinkable, and quite enjoyable for pastry stout fans.
