500mL bottle (definitely fresher than 2021) with the label reading 15% abv. poured into a snifter. pours a dark brown but settles in the glass a shiny black with barely a finger of mocha brown foam that quickly recedes into nothing. chocolate, cinnamon and dark fruits on the nose. very rich and intense, however, that has nothing on the taste. rich milk chocolate backed with light dark fruits and cinnamon with a slightly peppery finish. i cracked this one a little colder as i usually like my stouts near room temp but when there’s peppers involved i usually get into a little on the colder side. the peppers are so light and in check it’s amazing. a masterclass of balance and execution on a description for an imperial stout i would dismiss nine times out of ten. thick, full mouthfeel. i really can’t get over how good this is. the spicy peppery finish is subtle and perfect compliment to the rich chocolate and cinnamon -forward stout. really impressive.

500 mL bottle, labeled as a 15% cocoa, dates, cinnamon, and pepper stout, so I dunno about the current description of this beer. Pours viscous black. Smells of cinnamon, fudge, and pepper. Tastes of sweet chocolate, cinnamon, a little pepper burn. Quite sweet and chocolatey, but the pepper lingers. Low carbonation and very sweet. Couldn't drink much, but small amounts are good.
