Imperial Stout with Toasted Almond, Toasted Coconut, and Madagascar Vanilla Bean

And the pages turned. One by one. Without a motive or a reason to explain. It was the murmuring heartbeat of steady inertia. Where no external force may be at play. The inception of a motion with our friends at 3 Sons Brewing in Florida. We started with a well-intentioned aromatic Imperial Stout base and blended it up with two stronger stout bases to exude depth in a more quaffable big stout. We then meticulously aged it with macaroon raw coconut and toasted almonds, before a final dab of fresh Madagascar vanilla bean. The result is an almond joy soufflé, salted macaroons and coconut almond bars topped in whipped vanilla cream.

Pours pretty dark and very thick and syrupy, virtually no head. Massive coconut aroma mingles with chocolate. Boozy. Flavor is chocolate and coconut - think liquid mounds candy with a little booze on the finish. Thick and creamy, chewy texture. Overall on outstanding beer, glad I bought a few.

Released 3/31/21; drank 4/13/21 @ the Yarchives.

Black/brown appearance.

An even pour yielded a nice tan head; thick, frothy tree-rung lace.

Coconut, vanilla, chocolate syrup & mild almond notes in the nose; enticing!

Thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Coconut & chocolate syrup flavors up front; almond & vanilla notes on the finish. Mild booze heat emerged as this warmed.

Robust, and quite sweet...but pastry stout aficionados will find much to enjoy here.
