Notes:
Imperial Stout with Thai Banana, Nilla Wafers, Maple Syrup, and Vanilla Bean
We will be gone, but not eternally. For somehow we must find a light. And tomorrow, we shall enter into the vast ecstasy of explorative wonder. A heavy run on our stout bottles means we are headed back to you with a vengeance. This is number 1 of 2 heavy riffs in the imperial stout spectrum this week. For this mega-pudding tale we aged a blend of 3 different imperial stout bases on choice Thai bananas, with 100 pounds of Nilla Wafers, a smattering of maple and fresh Madagascar vanilla beans. Smash into a pie pan of banana cream, dive through vanilla pudding and intake freshly-baked maple banana bread.

Draft at Burial
A- pours jet black with a one/finger foamy khaki head that has shirt retention
S- initial aroma smells like banana pudding; ripe bananas, vanilla cream and the wafers really come through. Undertones of chocolate, caramel and waffle cone
T- sweet and malty up front with creamy banana notes immediately noticed, followed by a bit of sweet chocolate and vanilla cream. Mid-palate brings out the vanilla wafer notes, the finish gives more banana with a hit of sweet maple
M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that finishes velvety and warming
O- as advertised but becomes cloying after a few ounces
