Notes:
Golden Sour Ale with Spontaneous Culture (3-Year Blend)
Not all things are deserving of morose non-sequitur and periled verse. Some things are quite simple indeed. And after 3 years of making this beautiful tale of death and rebirth, we are ready to give you a grand Cuvee. The product of our locale, this spontaneous beer was made with Asheville city water, Riverbend Malt barley and wheat, house-aged hops, and the tidings of the air around us. Left to ferment in the open air, beneath our taproom peach trees (across from the Sloth and Selleck mural), each year the beer rests for varying lengths of 1 to 3 years, this year being the first-ever Cuvee of all 3 years of aging. The nose on this beer is special, filled with juicy peach fuzz, whipped almond paste, and well-aged Chenin blanc wine. The culture will continue its residency at Burial by taking over our Brunello foudre, allowing us to offer you this 3-year blend each year.

Appearance: Arrives a slightly hazy golden color with a one finger head; shards of lacing linger
Smell: Chenin blanc soaked oak aromatics with lemon and peach tones
Taste: Dry from the outset with sour lemon tones; white wine grape and lemon pith emerge to complement the sour aspect; a hint of vanilla in the rear
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; puckery
Overall: My first sour from Burial and it is impressive
