Notes:
Cuvee of cognac, bourbon, and Calvados barrel-aged strong ales
Exclusively for our Burnpile VIP ticket holders, included in your ticket price. Every Pile we bring out an asylum of barrel cuvée, showcasing our favorite liquids in one beverage. This year we only made exactly 300 bottles. We took a selection of our stout bases and aged them on cognac, bourbon, and Calvados barrels for one to two years before blending. The result is heaping slices chocolate rum cake topped with scoops of caramel toffee ice cream and garnished with bourbon-soaked dates.

Slightly glossy mahogany with nearly no head but for a fluidly uneven, bubbly ring.
Smell is decadent Reisen-like marshmallow and roasted pecan that verges near hickory, paired with a little American #lifey resin.
Taste is a little more assertively potent to start, but again exhibits Reisen with a bit of toffee, molasses and salted caramel. The cognac shines with its abrasive quality matched by the softening chocolatey malt of the bases.
The medium-light body is somehow also syrupy, cut by a fine bubbliness before finishing chewy yet slightly sticky.
