Like petals in the wind. Tumbling atop the torrents. Painting the shadows so that all the lights become brighter. Another journey into the beloved style of saison is brought to life with our friends from Fremont Brewing in Seattle. A simple base of Pilsner, wheat and Vienna malts from Asheville’s Riverbend Malt House is joined with a hearty addition of German Huell Melon hops, fragrant jasmine flowers and a decadent drizzle of orange blossom honey to bring a bright libation ripe with tones of fresh summer melon, zesty lemon pepper and fragrant dreams of dusk hangs in southern gardens.

On tap in a 12 ounce Pilsner style glass.
Slightly golden and hazed look that brightens and pales when light enters its space. No head, just a thin white-ish film. There’s some spot lacing.
It smells of Saison sour funk mostly. The German hops carry some spring floral notes and light citrus, lemon and orange.
Honey sweetens the malt, and hop flavors that follow the aromas. Wheat and yeast are moderate.
Pilsner under the light funk feel. Yeast, wheat, and malt come through softly. Clearly a German style Pilsner with a bit of Saison funk.
Grassy and light wheat finish dry.
A nice mix. Good warm weather brew, even at 6.2% abv. The Pilsner base works as an into type craft brew. I like it.
