Dull black with red edges and a short tan head that dies quickly to a thin creamy ring.
Much more chocolatey up front than the Too Much To Bear I had before it, and while roundly airy, it's also less viscous. But then the red wine barrel tannin comes in to sharpen and dry up the finish before emulating a port-like nougat that's pretty wonderful.
The nose, too, adds a nuttiness more akin to port, though the palate is a little warmer as I dig in. A second, deeper exhale brings almond chocolate bar for days, even with a little wafer.
