A West Coast-style IPA hypothesized by Andrew Tobin. Andrew is one of the finest analysts we know, calculated in plan and patient for resolve. The backbone of this IPA is inspired by his kick-flipping California roots, based in a mineral-driven water table, the palest barley, a touch of kilned malt, and the full onslaught of C hops. We added Citra, Chinook, Cascade and some Simcoe Cryo on the hot side, and followed that up with a double dry-hop of our hand-selects by the same name. Scoops of citrus Italian ice topped with candied grapefruit slices and drizzled in a pine-drenched simple syrup.

Look: It pours yellow with a little bit of clouding. It has a white head with very good head retention.
Smell: There are citrus notes of grapefruit upfront with pine. There are also some light pineapple notes with peach. There are also some low melon elements well into the background.

16 oz. can dated 12/28/23
Orangish lightly hazy gold color. Two fingers varying cream head. Full lacing curtains, surface continents and ring. No sediment or floaties.
Rich orange, grapefruit pith, and yes pine aromas.
Nice spiky hop bite up front. Grapefruit, pine, light melon, with a mandarin orange lingering aftertaste.
Good carbonation. Balanced for the style. Nice lasting carbonation.
An enjoyable WCIPA worth the premium price.

Can into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy honey gold color with a persistent bright white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is solid citrus, grapefruit, and a touch of pine. Mouthfeel is pretty hefty for 7%. Finish is a prolonged citrus experience, eventually tapering to slightly sweet pine resin. Excellent.
