A barrel-aged barleywine crafted by the hands of our barrel lord, Chris Golden. The barleywine mantle is a tough one to climb, and so we put a lot of love into forging these beers. After rounds of sensory concluded the right course for this ale, the final blend was made from 50% 1 year aged Willets Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, 40% 1 year aged Willets Boubon Barrel Barleywine aged an additional 1 year in steel, and 10% 1 year of Cuvee of Barrel-Aged Barleywine and Imperial Stout. The result is perhaps our most balanced array of fruit and sugar complexities, all with the appropriate spiritous presence. Vanilla cream soda dusted with espresso powder and infused with creme de cacao and chopped dates

Picked up a 2023 edition 500ml bottle at the South Slope location for $23.00. Consumed 8-1-24.
Beer poured dark brown with a nice off-white head.
Nose is fantastic! A lovely bouquet of dark fruits, cocoa, and vanilla.
Taste is a very large malt base that brings dates, figs, and toffee. Barrels impart a lovely touch of vanilla and cocoa. The blended finish is a lovely well-balanced medley of flavors.
Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with each sip being full and very smooth.
Overall, this is Burial's best BA beer i have had to date!

This is magnificent, like a very decadent dessert. Rich, creme brulee like charred brown sugar, a potent date note, and some sort of sweet bourbon cocktail dominate this one. At the edges are nice role-playing notes of vanilla, light cocoa, and caramel. Quite a treat!
