Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Mezcal Barrel-Aged Mexican Vanilla Beans. The blending of our traditional Kentucky Bourbon collection of stouts was married with the small batch aging of Mexican-sourced vanilla beans in small Mezcal cask. The beans were then added to a select blend of Willets Bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stouts, sitting inside our barrel house for more than 1 year.

Picked up a couple of bottles from the Burial South Slope location 10-26-2023 for $24/each. 2023 bottling for their Burnpile festival, consuming bottle one on 12-11-24.
Beer poured black with an okay brown head that dissipated quickly.
Nose is very nice as i am getting notes of vanilla, leather, and tequila.
Taste is an awesome blending job that is giving me some cocoa and light char from the malt base; vanilla and leather from the bourbon barrels and a touch of boozy vanilla from the mezcal. Finishes a touch sweet but the barrels warm and balance nicely.
Mouthfeel is medium to heavy bodied and very smooth.
Overall, this is a really interesting and well-done blend, glad to have a second bottle!

8 ball black with a short tan head, thicker at a quarter pipe ridge.
A big vanilla nose emulates cream cheese frosting with a touch botanics.
However, that seems to be the extent of the mezcal work at this point in its life cycle, as the palate gives a kind of a creamy chocolate flavor, although that comes to a stinging swallow. There's a touch of char, but also a sort of a cheesy oak too.
