Drank from a 1 pint .9 fl. oz. bottle purchased on Tavour
Served in a tulip

The beer poured a full bodied, oily and viscous, dark brown hue that bordered on pitch black. A thin, caramel colored film topped the liquid, but it quickly broke into a fine collar. Droplets of lacing trickled down the glass after the first sip.

The aroma was very spice forward. Cardamom notes dominated. Cinnamon also came through strong. Bit of eucalyptus too. There was a big dark chocolate presence as well. Touch of vanilla. Loads of brown sugar sweetness. Hint of orange peel. Bit of roasted malt character too.

The flavor profile followed the aroma. Spice notes dominated once again. Cardamom was definitely most prominent. Good dose of cinnamon as well. Dark chocolate also came through strong. Sweet brown sugar notes appeared on the back end. Some rosted malt notes rounded things out in the finish. Hint of bitterness and a kiss of booze too. Some minty, eucalyptus-like notes lingered after the swallow.

The mouthfeel was dense, oily and full bodied for the style. Really rich and smooth. The liquid contained a fine, subtle effervescence that turned creamy and slick on the palate.

Tragic Echo of the Imperishable is an interesting, spice-forward beer that is enjoyable in small quantities. If you have a bottle, I would definitely recommend sharing it with a group of friends.
