Ain't it fine. To just unwind. Idled beside the flickering of our final flame. The ghosts around us can finally rest. We are at peace with our finest season in hand. A lager project with Firestone Walker that knew no truth, until the barley showed itself. The handiwork of Epiphany Craft Malt is at the core of this countryside autumnal lager, featuring Foundation barley, small dabs of smoked pecan wood barley and chit malt, and German-born Hersbrucker and Spalter. The beer was then fermented cold, spunded for natural carbonation and aged in our horizontal lagering tanks. The final expression signals the changing seasons, with a profile of grape leaf, kudzu flowers, pumpernickel, and whole grain wasa crackers.

Mostly clear dirty blond body, white head. Aromas of bready yeast, bright lemon and grass tones, subtle cracker, white grape, and toasted grain. Taste is more focused on the lemon and grass with the yeast, with cracker and biscuit backing up. Body is thinner though, yeast and malt are light and somewhat pale, airy yet wet

Pours a clear, soft yellow color, looks dark gold in the glass; dense, lively carbonation; thick head, white and frothy, long-lasting with sticky webs of foam inside the glass. Outstanding delicate sweetness on the nose; suggestions of toasted grain and light honey. The taste follows along the lines of the smell, perhaps a bit weaker notes of honey and toasted grain; decent hop bitterness. Great mouthfeel; medium body; smooth and generally slick with a touch of carbonation raspiness on the palate; light dryness throughout.
A generally fine and tasty lager collaboration. Warm grains, hop bitterness nicely complements the malt bill, and a mild warmth make for an easy drinking beer.
ABV: 4.8%; pouring temperature: 41.4 °F; canning info: 16 OCT 2024 LET ME BE FRANCONIAN
