Dry-Hopped Pilsner

If you don’t get it. Just wait longer. Life is plentiful if you let it be. This beer is enough Built for brilliant moments. And undying curiosity. Made with beautiful crop and enthusiastic inspiration from Freestyle Hops in New Zealand. Mashed of pilsner malt and dry-hopped with Peacharine, NZ Cascade and Rakau HopKief.

super super hoppy pils here, high thiol and majorly new school, all new zealand stuff, gorgeous beer, hits right for springtime turning into summer, of very high quality, maxed out on these hops without being green, still drinkable, very impressive stuff, as always from burial. light golden, clear, racing carbonation, nearly two inches of pillowy whipped looking white head, lively the whole time, nicely refined. the aroma is bursting with hops, kiwi fruit and honeydew melon and ripe pear and certainly white wine grapes and actual white wine, lush and verdant, aloe vera, lemon verbena, its herbal too, soft in its potency, nothing forced, hop products seem obvious in this regard, concentrated but also well incorporated, and remarkably, they dont come entirely at the expense of the base beer being appreciable as a pils, i get the grain which does hit a touch european in this, and also the lager yeast, so its not just hoppy neutral lager, and i think thats important, there is balance, hop driven as this is. green gooseberries, green young coconut, and sage and apple mint also in the nose. the flavor is, to me, not quite as compelling as the aroma, the hops do dominate, still get some pils malt which i am thankful for, but its majorly saturated, even without a lot of bitterness this kind of goes more into that india pale lager range at this intensity. love the fruity and sativa type character, the white wine personality, seriously almost seems thiol boosted or terpene dosed, and that part of the hop profile does linger after the swallow, fairly dry, strong hoppy recall, unique and even memorable, but strong too, i was less inclined to have a second pint can of this than i thought i would be when i bought it, not a knock really, just an observation. light to medium bodied, real nicely lagered, effervescent feeling, i love drinking each sip through the foam, almost a side pull draft effect, way cool. sort of a final evolution of the style to me, this feels like about as far as it can be taken. fun to drink, wicked showcase of the new zealand hops in it, heavy handed to say the least...

Canned 03/02/25, into a pils glass.

Pours a nice clear gold with great head retention. Aroma is white wine, some biscuit malt and honey but noticeably NZ hops. Flavor is heavily NZ favored, with tons of white grape funk and hop character. There's still some honey and biscuit, but it's quite hoppy and bitter. Flavor still manages to be semi-juicy, but with extremely low sweetness. Feel is good, very bright, which helps with the bitterness. Body is low as well.

Overall, a cool pils that allows NZ hops to shine. I don't get much of the Peacharine fruity character, but it's quite heavy on the white wine funky fruit ideas. I think I would want even more hop character if I would put this one in my top tier ratings, but it's still quite good.

Pours a translucent golden yellow with a dense, satin white head of foam. Excellent lacing and head retention.

Aroma is noticeable as soon as you open the can; it almost jumps out at you. Even before putting it into the glass, I'm getting huge notes of lemon peel, blood orange, and sticky-sweet pine tar. In the glass, it has more pronounced notes of malted grains, with an almost biscuity side to it.

The flavor is dry and bittersweet. Upfront some clean notes of freshly mowed grass and fragrant, dried, potpourri like grapefruit and lemon skins. It goes even more bitter with a sharp bite of pine resin, before fading out into malty flavors of very mildly toasted malt and slightly tart lemon custard.

Mouthfeel is light and bubbly. Very easy drinking.

Overall this was very good, I'm not quite sure if the base pilsner is German, American or Bohemian in nature however.
