Doing the straight pour from a pint can into a pint glass:

The beer is a pineapple yellow, very opaque. Wow, the head is huge on this thing. It's fluffy with tons of lacing left behind. The aroma is very much that of a NEIPA. I'm getting lots of tropical fruit. There is a peppery quality in there as well, denoting some hop heat. It also comes with some actual vegetation from said hops. Tastewise, it starts off with some tropical fruit and changes over to grapefruit. This is a dry finish with a pleasant bitterness. Really cuts the sweetness. Aftertaste of peppery, vegetal goodness. The body is at the perfect midpoint to match the ABV.

Hey, this is a winner.

Canned 07/16/25 GO TO HELL, into a wide wine glass.

Pours a murky yellow with huge fluffy foam, very impressive and very hazy. Aroma is funky citrus and resin, quite fresh, along with a little mango. The palate is spicy tropical fruit and sweet, herbal vegatation, with a small bitter kick on the finish. There's a good amount of mango as well as grapefruit rind, but it's quite juicy alongside the dankness. Feel is great, medium bodied and soft enough without being too thick and sticky. Finish is long and bittersweet.

Overall, Burial hits again and scores high. I think 7.2% is the perfect zone for an IPA, west coast or hazy. It hits the perfect intersection between flavorful and thick, as well as smooth and refreshing, and allows both complex and delicate hop flavors to thrive. Sometimes it's hard to find NEIPAs of this caliber in my area (Southern Grist notwithstanding, sometimes I don't love their hop choices), and Burial always nails the "juicy but not overly sweet" flavors.
