To celebrate their 12th anniversary, the Burial's barrel master blended a gorgeous cuvee comprising both bourbon and rum barrel aged Stout. Take a sip, and you'll discover decadent notes of fudgy chocolate, dark cherry, and brown sugar. The roasty malts conjure nutty espresso tones drizzled in caramel. And without any adjuncts to stand in the way, the lingering tannic oak, rum raisin, and whiskey nuances really shine on the silky finish.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a super thick black with pretty much zero head. The nose is insane. Chocolate cake, rum, bourbon, vanilla, fudge, slight walnut note, and plums.

The taste is intense. Boozy for sure. The 15% is not lost on this. Much sweeter on the taste than I'd expect based on the nose. Lots of vanilla, marshmallow, slight maple, chocolate, loads of dark fruit, bourbon, rum, candy, brown sugar, cherries, and sugar-coated raisins. Honestly, it comes across as dark fruit soaked in rum and a little bit of bourbon. Really interesting how these flavors come out of a beer that had nothing added other than the barrel aging.

Silky finish for sure. Great mouthfeel, and an aftertaste of rum and raisin. Very enjoyable overall. A great one to share.

Black opaque body with a brown head. Rum and rustic bourbon barrels both detected in the nose with molasses dipped dates and raisin, with dark chocolate. Taste adds charred earth, slight smoke, a hint of coconut, leather, dark nut, and black cherry, really impressive work here. Feel is thick and warm, smooth and full on the palate but drinks dangerously easily.

Look - Pours a dark black color with a nice dark brown head.

Smell - Chocolate, brown sugar, rum, bourbon, and raisin.

Taste - Brown sugar, rum, raisin, chocolate, and bourbon. Delicious!

Feel - Very smooth and easy drinking, especially for a 15%ABV stout! Well done.

Overall - I'm a huge rum fan, which may be why I like this so much. It's a very delicious stout to me!

Apperance: Pours pitch black with a tan film forming; after a minute or two the film retreats to the edge, leaving a few speckles and legs with every sip

Smell: Both the Rum and Bourbon barrels make a subtle impression in the aroma but I am also getting the cherry, chocolate and caramel elements of German Chocolate cake

Taste: The German Chocolate cake flavors arrive first, bringing chocolate vanilla cream, caramel and black cherry; through the middle the barrel tones arrive with the Bourbon much more pronounced than the Rum; the barrels complement rather than dominate and, for 15%, it is not particularly boozy

Mouthfeel: Thick bodied with low carbonation; some warmth in the gullet

Overall: For an adjunct free BA stout this beer brings an extraordinary amount of pastry flavor
