This fine pilsner was formulated with our friends at Good Word Brewing for Burnpile 2025. Decocted and mashed with Eraclea malt. Deftly hopped with Tettnang.

Picked up a 16 oz single from the Blue Door Bottleshop warm shelves 11-13-25 for $5.00. Canned 25 SEP 2025; consumed 1-6-26. Cold stored since purchase. Collaboration with Good Word Brewing.

Beer poured chilled gold with a nice white head with the original pour.

Nose is biscuity and bready with notes of herbal hops.

Taste is a biscuits and bread malt base that combines nicely with the hopping which brings a touch of lemon and finishes with a zest and pepper bitterness; 7/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel is light bodied and refreshing.

Overall, dig this Pilsner. Todd DiMatteo is an excellent lager brewer and was definitely a contributor to this collab.

Canned 09/25/25 GRADE A, collab with Good Word Brewing, into a Czech style dimpled mug.

Pours a darker gold with lasting creamy white foam. Aroma is classic honey and white bread but with a heavy floral kick and bitterness. Flavor is classic German pils with heavy American craft influence, that is to say much more hoppy, bitter, and bold than the standard. However, it still has an almost festbier-ish malt richness, and is bitter but well balanced. The hop flavors are strong but decidedly traditional, completely European, bringing heavy tea and slightly grassy herbal ideas to the heavy bitterness. Feel is great, a little heavier bodied but still a real crusher. Lower carb but crisp and refreshing.

Overall, a heavy-handed and American take on German pils, but with excellent execution. It feels bold and assertive while still having the drinkability and balance of a great German pils. Good Word always does great with German-style lagers, and Burial always hits it with hoppy beers of any style. A great collab.
