this is everything i hoped it would be, elite quality, huge body, honest and potent extra ingredients, hits the french toast mark super well, slick and smooth to drink on, and way cool to have it on tap at their original location, been years since i have been here, always a pleasure! vanilla, maple syrup, cinnamon, and coffee in this beauty, bourbon barrel aged, absurdly delicious, super long boiled it seems. black in the glass, viscous but not grotesquely so, very short dark brown layer of bubbles on it that pop and go away, and not a ton of carbonation in the mouth, modest shine to it. aroma is amazing, warm cinnamon, bourbon and alcohol first, lots of roast and coffee too, cozy and rich without being over the top sweet right away, still, there are molasses and brown sugar notes to the base beer setting up maple syrup really well, and the vanilla is high end and sensual without being forced, great proportions with cinnamon out in front in a nice way, the oak element is unifying and nice, it seems exceedingly well refined for its size, very intentional in every way, the quality of the coffee also seems super high, no acid from it in this either, desserty but in an adult way for sure. the flavor is so cohesive and awesome, layers of rich maple syrup and heavy coffee and roast, that foundation is amazing with the bourbon, char, and wood, and of course with the cinnamon and vanilla, its not all that strong tasting really, the body is mega and its silky, hints of smoke, good high cacao chocolate, and the actual french toast bread, all griddled and hot and buttery, it takes me there. not too sweet to drink, very pure on the maple, cinnamon, coffee, and vanilla, and really masterfully proportioned. its gnarly how much of this i think i could drink, like it doesnt carry the fatigue factor of big stouts and flavored beer really at all for me, which is crazy, not a small doses thing despite its strength and flavor potency. i absolutely loved this! top notch.
