Draft poured; nice color with one finger head. Not much to nose; roasted malts for sure, some vanilla. There is a chocolate note with an anise or faint licorice note, alcohol is there. Thick mouth feel.

Look - pitch black with a mocha head and spotty lacing.
Smell - pretty mild, but roasted malts, booze, chocolate, and brown sugar.
Taste - booze is pretty strong, chocolate, roasted malts, and I get a dominant licorice note that lingers, which is really nice.
Feel - medium carbonation, medium body that is slightly sticky, and smooth finish.
Overall, the licorice note is most impressive, but I also like how prominent the booze is, especially since it mixes really well with the rich stout characteristics you expect.

Great in appearance, lacking in nose. Taste profile is rich with coffee and chocolate, but the alcohol certainly shows through. If the alcohol was managed a bit more, I think this would be 4.0+.
