Our first coffee porter has nice light chocolate notes behind the fresh-roasted coffee flavour, and features beans roasted by our own Steve Nazarian, who is also owner of the First Crack Coffee Company.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. My third beer from the London, Ontario brewery, and first for 2025. Delicious and exemplary.
March 27, 2026: At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My 2nd time drinking this, and 1st for 2026. Steadfastly recommended, against all odds, by Sundae the cat, with love...

Not bad at all.
Not my favorite porter but i think its very drinkable and i wouldn't decline it if someone offered me one.
Lots of foam as soon as your pour it. Quickly goes away after a few minutes. Mine came in the can and not the bottle.
1st sip i taste the coffee right away. You can smell the coffee too. The coffee's taste and smell in my opinion is more on the side of lightly roasted and maybe even closer to cheapy powdered coffee. I've had coffee porters before and noticed more of a bold smell and flavor in them. Not so in Full City Coffee Porter. I encourage them to experiment a little more and try to get a more DARK COFFEE flavor. A shot of Dark French Roast coffee would do the trick.

Look: Pours dark brown sliding close to black. Pours with a wonderful 3 finger mocha tan head. The head on pour is looks rocky with large bubbles. Over 5 minutes the had slowly wears down to a single dense finger across the entire top of the glass
Smell: Lightly smelling of bitter espresso, with hints of sugar and a slight antiseptic-like quality. Smell is a weak point.
Taste: Espresso, leather and tobacco. Rich bitter coffee bean flavour and bakers chocolate at the front end. This isn't a sweet coffee and cream dessert porter. This is your grandfather's black coffee, from a pot that's nearly ready to be freshened up.
Feel: Slightly gritty and chalky. Light to medium bodied, could use a bit less of a watery texture. Not exactly thin.....but definitely on a diet.
If judged on looks and taste this would be a solid A. The mouth feel and smell pull this back to a solid B+. I would be happy to drink this again.

Can: Poured a black color porter with a brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some floral coffee notes is enjoyable. Taste is a mix of dry roasted malt notes with some dry floral coffee notes. Body is a bit thin with good carbonation. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

Pours dark brown - although a little thinner & lighter looking than I'd like - with a tall frothy mocha head which dissipates slowly; leaves decent lacing. Aroma of coffee, sweet roasted malts & a hint of vanilla. The taste is of dark roasted malts with additions of light coffee & just hints of chocolate and vanilla. Both the taste and mouthfeel are too watery for my liking and the creaminess I's normally like to feel in a porter is just not there. An ok porter, but not one I will seek out again.

Pours nearly pure black with a big, rocky, tan head that lasts a good while. Bitter espresso coffee, tobacco and some hop bitterness in the nose. Coarse Robusta coffee dominates in the taste with maple syrup, dark chocolate and estery british yeast flavors in the back. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with a prickly, light carbonation. Strong bitter coffee flavor and light hop bitterness in the finish.
A bit overpowered by coffee and not the greatest coffee flavor. Good, but not worth seeking out.

Got this one from hopsolutely this past summer
From a 500ml bottle into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Slow foamer upon opening. A careful pour comes out clear brown and yields a three finger, looser, foamy, light tan head with decent retention. Clear bistre brown body with higher levels of carbonation. Head slowly fades to a foamy cap and leaves lots of lacing down the glass. Foamy and over carbonated.
SMELL: The coffee comes across stale, initially. Green peas and some light metallic notes. There some sweet cream in there as well, but this is mostly peas and metal. Not very appealing.
TASTE: Stale coffee with lots of green peas up front. Notes of caramel and cream come through at the swallow with a medium finish of cream, caramel, peas and stale coffee. It’s slightly tart as well. Pretty lousy.
PALATE: Thin body and insane levels of carbonation. Airy and foamy on the palate, goes down foamy and finishes a touch dry. Thin and light with piles of carbonation and foam. Pretty bad.
OVERALL: This was lousy. Gross flavors and poorly executed. Tasted like stale coffee and green peas, while the feel was thin, foamy and way over carbonated. Drain got most of this one. Another bad Forked River beer.
