A marvelous complex saison, the brett and the wood created a mild pear taste, with notes of lemon tartness. A good summer drinker. Thanks for the hookup Jason back 3 years.

a chardonnay barrel aged saison, unflatteringly poured into a shaker pint at the rosedale on evans and downing, but a darn tasty beer, and one of the best i have had from these guys overall. a pleasant surprise! its straw colored and a little hazy but still very bright and bubbly in the glass, super pale, and without visible sediment particulate. aroma is great, tons of new oak and white wine, its crisper than expected, and almost assuredly has a brett pitch in it, i get a citrusy and melon funkiness about it, really cool with the forward wine, and then a very mild and modest wheat base, barely there. the flavor is quite complex, there is a juicy dry hoppy component to this too that i really like with all the wine, which comes through as forward in the taste as it was in the nose. my mouth waters for another sip immediately after i swallow each sip, slight wine tannins and a really mature and dry saison strain team up to have that effect on me. carbonation is great here, and this feels lighter than it is. cool to have a barrel aged beer like this lower in alcohol and still quite delicate. wood and drying saison yeast to finish, a little bretty funk with melon, and clean citrus. its delicious beer, some of their best work for sure! barrel aged beer for the warm weather too!
