more raspberry than berliner here, but thats okay because the fruit manifests itself more as a tart than a sweet, allowing the apparent lack of funk and sour in the base beer to be enhanced by the fruit, rather than overrun by it. transparent pink color with some haze, a short pink head. puckery nose, but more from the fruit i think. i dont get much lacto in the nose, and only a little in the taste. the wheat malt base is extremely light, and could probably stand to be ramped up a bit, but i like its lightness. the berries are heavy through the flavor, but they never make it sweet, and they never seem too much. its definitely a florida drink, less appealing in a colorado autumn context, but i see the appeal. carbonation is good enough and i love that the finish is clean, with a tempered mouthwatering feeling creeping back in after the swallow, theres the sourness! overall less conventional than others, which i dig, but maybe not quite what they style calls for. its like the raspberry syrup was already added, rather than letting me dose it myself.
