one of the least memorable of the blackberry farm beers i have had so far. all of their stuff is so distinct, yet subtle, and just through the roof in overall quality. this darker colored and well hopped saison is good but it tastes a little bland to me, and like it could have come from anyone, it doesnt have that sort of intangible awesomeness that a lot of their other beers all have. its amber in color and moderately frothy from the tap, a nose of citrusy hop, dried grassy bitterness, green tea, fall spices from the yeast, and a light white wine element above the malty richness. the flavor is pretty mild next to the nose, not as hoppy for me, a little orange rind element to it, but thats about it. sweet at first from the grain, dried strawberries, honey, and maybe some red wheat, it is interesting, but its real mellow and it never quite pulls together. hops are there in the finish, a light clove ester note from the yeast, and a belgian fruitiness too. well made overall beer, but this isnt their most compelling recipe...
