Look - poured into a 10 oz glass. light copper in color, clear, with a moderately large head that mostly dissipates, leaving little to no lacing.
Smell - toasty malts, with caramel/molasses and even a hint of wintry spices. really pleasant on the nose.
Taste - very light tartness and malts hit the palate first, which is followed by moderate bitterness that gives the flavor a really nice balance. overall crisp and finish is clean, with a bit of lingering toasted malts in the palate.
Feel - light to medium bodied, high carbonation, and relatively crushable at 5.1%.
Overall - an exemplary Vienna lager on the slightly more hoppier side. simple, tasty, and delicious.

A: The beer is relatively clear amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head that quickly settled down, leaving some lacing on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has faint hints of spicy hops along with a light to moderate amount of bitterness. There is also some hints of sweetness from the malts that peeks through from time to time.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be easy to drink and a good representation of the style.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is light copper, head is off white and presents 1+ fingers thick and then dissipates to nothing with no lacing.
Smell is crisp vienna malt with notes of toast, grapenuts, and caramel; sharper bite from carbonation and/or hopping.
Taste is similar with vienna malt notes of toast, grapenuts, caramel; crisp noble hops with light grassiness and sharp bitterness on the finish.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness but sharp crispness from hoping/carbonation.
Overall a very pleasant vienna style lager with crisper finish than most.

Fine, dark amber body, clear; coarse, lively carbonation; decent white head, frothy and lasting. Great aroma; toasted grain and caramel; esters in the background. Warm, toasted grain flavor; mild hop bitterness. Medium body with moderate residual sugar feel and stickiness; light warmth and overall dryness.
A decent Vienna styled lager, rich and malty, bringing a satisfying malt-forward flavor to the palate.
Pouring temperature: 43 °F; canning data: unknown

12oz can served in a snulip. Dated 11/10/20, if I can read it correctly, so probably not as fresh as I would like. Gift from a friend...no idea how he obtained a Tennessee beer. Not something you see often out here in western Washington.
Pours a deep amber, fairly clear, with a medium sized head that fades quickly into a ring and a dusting. Smell is nice, grain tea, husk, hay. A little bready yeastiness.
Taste is a bit of a surprise. I get all that grainy goodness, with a little bit of a bite. More toasty flavors, and a clear (but not overpowering) bitterness. Maybe lacking a bit in sweetness.
Mouthfeel is light to medium. Overall, this is tasty, better than I expected at six months old, just leans a bit toward the bitter side for the style.

Pours an opaque amber, 1.5" head that recedes to a thin coaster of head, no lacing. Nose is caramel, noble hop, light spice, and brown bread. Flavor is lightly sweet and nutty, mild bready grain character, and some fruity yeast. Mouthfeel is moderate, but the carbonation crisp. A nice, lighter, and mild version of the style that stays sessionable.

cool to see these guys canning. this is a tasty vienna lager, a style of beer i am not generally wild about, but of impressive quality, no surprise from these guys, who quietly remain one of the best breweries in the country. this is a little different than i remember their draft lab vienna lager being some years ago, but this is also robust and drinkable at the same time. a mid copper color to this, high white head on it and just off from clear, so lively it could be mistaken for one of their saisons. its nutty in the aromatic, yeast forward and unique on the ferment, earthy and slightly estery, rustic for sure, but also nicely cleaned up, drier than most examples of the style to me, but packed with character. hints of almond and bran in the taste, cool grain base on this less caramelized and much less sweet than many vienna types. wet on the palate, lots of minerals, some doughy and baked aspects to the yeast, slightly farmy there too, surprisingly fast finishing in this style. some mellow bittering hops seems to be all on that front, but this isnt missing anything to me. i love how the yeast and grain come together, how this still seems european and traditional but is also distinct in a samey style, and i could drink a ton of these if i had them. another impressive beer from blackberry farm, glad to have this in idaho!

12oz can stamped 11/30/20 (4.5 months old & brand new to my local store's shelf) poured into a pilsner glass at fridge temp 5.1% ABV. The beer pours barely hazy in a orange amber color. The head is khaki colored and recedes to a thin ring and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is mild with bready caramel malt. The taste is semisweet toasted malt with with minimal tea-like hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good. I would definitely try this again fresh if I had the opportunity. Shows promise.

Can from John’s poured into tulip. Super drinkable. What is it about naming makes me prefer Vienna lagers to amber lagers?
