This seasonal ale adds a unique twist on an appellation from Germany with the addition of fresh watermelon puree to the light, clean and crisp German Style Ale. The subtle sweetness from the fruit compliments the malt and hop character to create an incredibly sessionable ale. This seasonal beer is excellent in the summertime and best enjoyed outdoors with friends.

This kolsch is unlike any other. The watermelon complements, but does not overshadow the kolsch. I never even order this style of beer because I had not had a good one before. This and the plain kolsch (2014 GABF winner) are amazing.

tough to make watermelon work in beer, this is a reasonable go at it, but its a little too sweet and the watermelon is more candy-like than fresh fruity, but its drinkable and reasonable and interesting. blonde, no fruit color to it at all, looks about the same as the base kolsch. sweet nose, but its obviously watermelon, not lots in general fruity mumbo jumbo, its what it says it is. watermelon is only so versatile though, the way watermelon juice is weird textured and tastes totally different than a slice of it, this is more in the juice arena, but too sweet to be sessionable for more than a pint or too. good carbonation and a little more body than it needs. not a beer i would order again, but a decent enough crack at a tough beer to make well. this was also the only middle of the road beer i had at fate, i either despised or absolutely loved the others, maybe some consistency issues to resolve there, but this is worth a try for the fruit beer fan.
