Perhaps Belgian at heart, a healthy heaping dose of berries pile onto Blue Stallions pale ale that extends well beyond the estery, spicy and tangy glory of the base beer underneath.
Berry Thirst Trappe pours with a turbid mauve appearance and with an eggshell froth that expels soon after. Musty fruitiness dips into the wine side of scent slightly but the overcast of all-things-berry quickly dominates the nose. Sweet with fructose and malt, a candied, juicy, punch-like flavor captures much more fruit than ale.
Change is marginal across the middle palate as the sweetness, fruitiness and summer flavors are steadfast long and lean with the tastebuds. A wine must character brings a vinous taste with a slightly peppery finish and a tinge of acidity of a semblance of balance against the fruity sweetness that's slow to dissolve.
Medium bodied but trending with a mix of smoothie and sangria, the rich fruit textures are cut by the moderate alcohol and playful acidity for a mildly tannic texture and a slight bitter taste to round out the medium length afterglow.
