Perhaps past its prime. Poured hazy orange with no head. Smells of acidity and dried apricots ...and tastes very much the same. Very sharply sour, strong dried apricot notes, and no discernible funk. A good amount of acetic and lactic acid mixed with the fruit acids made for an intense puckering experience. My least enjoyable Side Project beer so far...which isn't saying much since I usually adore their offerings. Great mouthfeel though.

Wow! This might be one of the better wild ales I've had. Pours beautifully but the taste and feel of this beer is world class. Fruity apricots as well as some lemony citrus play off just the perfect amount of sour/tartness. Light mouthfeel, great amount of carbonation and finishes a slight bit semi-dry. If you can get this, grab many. Soo gooood!

Happy birthday to me! Well it was a few days ago but I can finally open something nice.

Time to be selfish. 750 into a side project tulip. Split with myself and paired with the Warriors

Look- looks fantastic in the glass, nice soft finger size head.

Nose- oh yes you can tell this will be good, real nice sour notes and funk. Actually reminds me a lot of beatification. Some real nice fruitiness.

Taste- this is the star of the show! Fantastic mix of sour and funk and the great tasting base.you can taste the different components on the tounge

Feel is damn near perfect, on money of body and carbonation.

Overall- wow I was hopin this would be good but this exceeds my expectations. The blending is masterful on this one. I made a very good choice on this one tonight. I don't see this one getting any better.

Damn Warriors first loss in 7 weeks! 24-1. Here's to a great start and a phenamal job by the dubs!

Golden color with white head. Nice apricot sour flavor. Acidic with a bit of vinegar flavor. Very fruity and tart. Easy drinking. Not as good as batch 2 but still great.

Pale golden with light orange hues. A white head with some lacing.

Super tart with notes of apricot, moderate funk, granny smith apple and awesome barrel character!

Super sour, great apricot flavor, nice acidity.

Medium body, light carb, dry tart finish.

Another top end sour from Side Project!

750ml bottle. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a hazy, cloudy light orange body, two finger white head, nice retention, not much lacing; eventually drops into a thin collar and film. Smells of apricot, straw, oak, mild funk, moderate lactic acidity, white wine, a bit of hay. It seems a bit dialed back compared to what I remember of blend 2, but the apricots are a very nice addition. Flavour reminds me of du Ble but with increased acidity and a light-moderate apricot fruit flavour; compared to La Fosse, there is a fair bit less apricot, but the acidity is also dialed back, allowing more funk, oak, straw, wheat to come out more, which adds more complexity. The acidity is still hefty, but much more drinkable. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, appropriately carbonated, very easy to drink. Overall, this one also delivered a beautiful drinking experience and I would recommend this to anyone. It's not quite as spectacular as Blend 2 was, but that's not saying much since that one was particularly excellent.

Always worried when drinking a hyped up beer but this one absolutely delivered. The aroma was intoxicating and the taste was out of this world. Tart and delicious apricot taste. It is definitely at the top of my sours list and hope to be able to get it again and again and again!

Meets hype and then some. Amazing tart apricot filled nose, increasingly pleasant as it warms. Amazing flavor with a surprisingly good body. Someone said the apricot was not enough, but i assume them to be crazy. This beer is top

A: Golden, brilliantly clear, thin white head

S: Lactic sour, a bit of stone fruit

T: VERY sour, oak, some malty sweetness, lemon and a hint of apricot

M: A bit thick at first, but high carb has it finish lighter

O: A very good wild ale but overall the flavors were a bit more aggressive than delicate

Orange, pulpy appearance. Apricot, oak, chardonnay ... definitely some grain character. Flavor is tons of apricot, medium body, a bit pulpy, but finishes lighter, crisper, wine aromatics linger.

Wow! This sour ale blew me away! Pours hazy orange-yellow, with a thick head that dissipated almost immediately, like a champagne. Huge fruity smells are immediately noticed before even getting it to your nose! Apricot, peach and grape flavors balance well on a blanket of barnyard funk. The mouthfeel is similar to a champagne, not much body to the ale itself. Overall an outstanding representation of a sour and I would drink this again... and again... and again... and again.

The beer smells amazing. I bet they blend off of smell first and then taste. Aromas of every citrus fruit rind fill the air. Just amazing. Soft mouthfeel, soft sourness and soft fruit flavor. I could drink this every day. Way better than Veritas!

Wow, this beer is incredible. The smell is super inviting smells like an apricot grove mixed with funk. Not cheese funk, but more of a hay, wet barn smell. Absolutely fantastic. I need as much of this as i can get.

A: Hazy light orange glow with a bid of head.

S: Bright stone fruit and mellow grass.

T: Juicy apricots, peaches and white grapes rounded by oak and punched with a back end crisp sour punch. What I think an apricot sour patch kid might taste like if they made one.

O: Really delicious.

Pours a slightly hazy orange. Little funky going on the nose along with a little apricot. Taste is very complex. There is a sweet and sour aspect that play well together. I bet that this will get even better with a few more months on it.

A- Pours a bright and slightly hazy orange-golden in color. A small and fizzy head forms but is gone just as quickly, so there is no lacing at all. Really looks like a hazy champagne in the glass.

S- When the scent first hits the nose, there is a good dose of apricot and lightly tart fruit. Right after the fruitiness, the Ble component of the beer gives a dry tartness to the nose. Right at the end there is a slight hay or barnyard funk that is very subtle and balances the overall tartness.

T- The first taste that hits the tongue is very similar to the initial scents of this beer, with a good dose of apricot fruitiness. The stone fruit really takes over at the beginning and provides both a lightly tart and heartily juicy flavor. The middle of the drink sees a slight rise of dry tartness, but it is very subtle. Most of the tartness subsides and gives way to dry base saison before the funk of the yeast moves end at the very end. Lingering flavor is a combo platter of light sour and barnyard yeast.

M- I'm really perplexed by this beer's feel on the tongue. There is definitely a combination of highly carbonated champagne feel along with fairly thick and smooth juice. It really is a unique mouthfeel with a thickness of a juice but the texture of a champagne.

Overall, this beer smells awesome, but has a way more complex taste. I'm impressed by the subtlety of the fruit and the delicate tartness of the rest of the blend. This is one of my favorite of Cory's beers so far.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Hazy orange. Medium white head. Smells like apricot, white wine, oak. Tastes like a ton of apricot. Strong oak and wheat grain. White wine in the finish. Lighter in all respects than Blend #2. Medium light body. Delicious apricot flavor. Not quite the remarkable beer that Blend #2 was, but really nice.

Blend #3 is a home run.

Sour meets stone fruit in barrels, creating magic waves of flavor ranging the spectrum from sour to sweet to everything in between.

It is very, very good and worth seeking out.

gosh al of these side project beers are just so special, blended to perfection, its realy impressive what some know how, patience, and creativity will get you in terms of a fermented beverage! the highlight of this one is that its got the best of all the wild yeast profiles. horsey brett thats mature and developed and bringing a little tartness to the mix, seemingly bonded to oak flavor that is sturdy and natural. there is the lacto with its lemon acidic sting and its sharp mouthwatering pucker. the fusion of the two is incredible. a very light wheat malt base a lot like the foudre beer they do, and the addition of the fruit is both subtle and necessary in this one. its very true to ripe apricot flavor, with the brett really holding on to some of the more interesting textural elements of the apricot, and the juicy flesh with its summery sweetness a nice counterpoint to the intense sourness that builds as this moves along. it warms up with the best of them, and really satisfies all the check boxes of a beer like fou foune, although this strikes out in a decidedly separate direction from the old world lambics. i am impressed as much by the quality and process as i am by the flavors. some of the best beer i have had so far in 2015.

Thanks to Steve for this one!
Hazy, brassy golden orange, thin skim and frothy lacing around the edges.

Complex acidic aroma with plenty of apricot and a touch of dry woody oak.
Puckering and juicy, moderately sour with lots of apricot again. Vanilla note from the oak, a wisp of toasted coconut at first. Dry tannic aftertaste. Light bodied with mellow carbonation. Overall it's a nicely complex blend, glad the oak comes through prominently.

Lucky enough to make it to the release on Saturday and cracking my first one this evening.
Gorgeous hazy orange with little head that dissipated quickly.
Very nice tart sweetness I assume from the apricots.
Perfect amount of funk aroma. Looking forward to trying this one again given some time to cellar. My first from SP and I am impressed as I expected.
